Barbara L. Clanton is a native New Yorker who left those "New York minutes" for the slower-paced palm-tree-filled life in Orlando, Florida. She currently teaches mathematics at a college preparatory school in the Orlando area. When she's not teaching, playing softball, tiling her floors, or evicting possums from the engine block of her RV, "Dr. Barb" plays bass guitar in a local band called The Gerriatrics with her wife who plays the drums. Her ultimate dream is to one day snowbird between upstate New York and central Florida
Barb was minding her own business one summer, playing softball, going to the beach, and relaxing with friends when, Knock, Knock, Knock, a novel started writing itself in her head. Marlee McAllister (Star of "Out of Left Field" and "Out at Home") wanted her and her friends' stories told. Barb obliged and the young adult lesbian Clarksonville Series was born. A few more standalone YA novels and several girls' sports stories later, and Barb shows no signs of stopping as she writes every chance she gets.
