The following are, well, questions I am frequently asked. Thus, this page is quite aptly named, don't you think?

How can I get your books?
Through StarCrossed Productions, Inc: www.scp-inc.biz
or Amazon.com or BarnesandNoble.com

How did you get interested in writing?
I've been a life-long reader and always wondered how authors were able to do it. I finally decided to try my hand and the first result was an absolute disaster. I realized that there were rules and guidelines and, oh yeah, structure to novels. So I hit the "how-to" books and tried again. Guess it worked, but I'm far from being done in the learning department. I'll be learning this craft forever, I think.

How long did it take you to write your novels?
Good question. The first one, "Marlee's Story", took about three years because I didn't really know what I was doing. I'd put it away for months at a time while I did other things: worked full-time, played softball, played in the band, etc. But when I finally felt I was doing something right with the writing (right writing?)--it took off. "Meredith's Story" took about six months from start to finish.

Where do you get your ideas?
Ideas pop up all the time, especially when I have down time and can just sit and think. Or sometimes someone will say something that sparks an entire dialogue in my head. Or sometimes I'll picture a scene and the rest of the story comes from that -- "Meredith's Story" was written with one scene in mind. I can't tell you which one because that'd spoil everything for you! Email me after you read the book and I'll tell you which scene I built the whole book around! Look for "Art for Art's Sake: Meredith's Story" from Regal Crest in March, 2009.

Are any of your characters based on real people?
Heavens no. Although they feel real to me, I try to keep my characters as fictionalized as possible. Of course, you can't help but be influenced by your own experiences and the people around you, but I try hard not to base my characters on real folks.

Are you writing any more books?
Of course! I've been bitten by the bug! I've got yet another young adult novel in the works. More about that later (I don't want to jinx it!). But I've also submitted several short stories to some anthologies. If any get picked up, I'll let you know.

If you have any more questions please email me at Barb@BLClanton.com. I'll post my answers here. Smile
